Stelios Podimatis is the residential supervisor with Michael Haberman Associates, Inc. and has been actively engaged in the real estate industry full-time since 1988. He is a graduate of New York University with Bachelor of Science Degrees in Finance and International Business. He completed a two year certificate program at Columbia University for computer network administration. Stelios holds a NYS Real Estate Certified Appraiser license and is a member in good standing with the Columbia Society of Real Estate Appraisers.
The real estate experience of Stelios is well-rounded with a primary focus on the residential market within the five boroughs of New York and Long Island. Early in his career, he exclusively focused on appraising cooperative apartments in Manhattan and establishing extensive relationships with numerous managing agents to build a database of cooperative sales. He has expertise in all types of residential properties. Properties appraised include single and multi-family homes, cooperatives, condominiums, large residential estates, mansions, historic dwellings, waterfront residences, vacant land and residential developmental rights. He was the manager of the Home Appraisal Company, a residential appraisal firm that facilitated appraisals between various lenders in the Metropolitan New York area.
Stelios’ focus in recent years has been the company’s Small Claims Assessment department where he primarily focuses on the valuation of thousands of properties used as evidence in small claims assessment hearings. This department represents the interests of twelve municipalities in approximately 12,000 annual small claims assessment review proceedings in the counties of Nassau and Suffolk. He also participates in hearings that involve tax certiorari cases and is an expert witness in the five boroughs of New York City.
